In most situations involving frivolous lawsuits, individuals are referring to civil cases, not criminal cases like assault, personal injury, or wrongful death. Civil cases are intended to resolve disputes between people, or between people and a corporation. However, despite the overwhelming perception that too many lawsuits are filed in America, statistics show that civil lawsuits are actually declining.
