Apolinsky & Associates, LLC is mindful of how everyone’s life has been affected by the COVID-19 virus pandemic that we are living through, and we wish you and your family well. It is unsettling to not know when the pandemic will end and not knowing when we can go back to our old lives. We worry about our health and worry about the health of our family members and friends.
Apolinsky & Associates, LLC continues to be in business, but we are adjusting to working from home and either conferring with our clients or the courts by using email, text communications and the use of video technology. It is not always easy, but we are grateful to have clients who entrust us to help them and their families.
As we all deal with trying to adjust to life during a pandemic, the pandemic will invariably lead to legal claims and lawsuits cutting across many areas of the law. It is important to find a lawyer that specializes in the area of law that is needed. People who believe they were wrongfully terminated or were not given the proper notice before being fired should consult an employment lawyer. Others will contract the virus at work, and they should consult a worker’s compensation lawyer. Others may contract the virus by visiting a place of business (for example, after dropping off a delivery) and they may need a personal injury lawyer.
From the business side, tenants are failing to pay rent and some are arguing that state restrictions or the virus is playing a role. As a result, businesses are filing claims with insurance carriers for business disruption, and commercial litigation lawyers are very busy.
State and federal officials are protecting health care workers from lawsuits over the care they provide. We support the limited immunity and believe that we as a society should do everything we can to help them focus on doing their jobs and not having to worry about the consequences of their actions.
We are all in this together, and we wish everyone good mental and physical health. If we can help you in any way, please feel free to reach out to us. Our specialty is personal injury, but we also are reviewing work-related injury claims related to COVID-19.
